Analysis of Social Determinants en the Prevalence of Cervical Cancer in Latina Communities in the United States: A literature review from a socio ecological perspective

The following is a literature review written about social determinants of health that influence the prevalence of cervical cancer in the latina community of the United States. This heightened my understanding of aspects not directly related to health that have a strong influence on how a latina woman might access healthcare in the United States as well as the seemingly invisible barriers that some people face in the search for healthcare. Writing and researching this paper helped to enrich my perspective on many other aspects of health. Through completing a mixed methods synthesis, an analysis of both the qualitative studies as well as quantitative studies, a fuller view of understanding was made. The knowledge through which I gained from this experience is immeasurable, not from the quantitative fact of hardship many people in need of healthcare face, but immeasurable in the sense that empathy cannot be measured in a linear fashion. Having the opportunity to dig deep and increase my knowledge has increased my empathy and passion in the realm of health. I aim to shape my health care practice addressing disparities among patients as well as looking at the I will keep building upon what I have learned and use this incredible experience to work from the ground up to better understand the perspectives of people be it in or outside of healthcare.
